Moving from visual culture to fine Art,

Claire Laurent redefines contemporary portraiture through a pop-figurative lens. Her practice explores how image, style, and presence construct identity in today’s aesthetic landscape.

Claire Laurent is a contemporary painter originally from the South of France. After studying Fine Arts, she settled in Paris, where she spent two decades working in creation, design, and advertising for major international brands. Those years devoted to visual storytelling, image research, and creative direction shaped a rich and sharp visual culture, now at the core of her artistic practice.

Based between Paris and Miami, Claire has turned fully to painting as a more personal and instinctive form of expression. Her recent works explore the intersection of identity, attitude, and color, translating contemporary figures into bold, pop-figurative compositions. Through precise gestures, saturated hues, and monumental framing, her portraits capture the tension between individuality and archetype, between what is seen and what remains unsaid.

Her pictorial language draws from her background in fashion, photography, and media imagery, transforming everyday codes of style and presence into a visual reflection of our cultural aesthetics.
Each painting becomes both a portrait and a mirror, celebrating the raw energy and subtle psychology of contemporary life.
